The author and date of this document are unknown. It contains material from another document known to be dated in 1819, so it must have been written after that, and before 1892 when this work is found in another published piece.

According to the translation by Stephen A. Halkovic, Jr., it begins: " Contained herein is the concise written collection of the history of the Kalmyk Khans"
